Willow Hall is not only the second BGKA project completed for Texas State University’s Round Rock Campus, but along with St. David’s School of Nursing, it’s also the second move in the university’s relocation of Health Professions from San Marcos to Round Rock. The 107,000 SF facility houses the departments of Physical Therapy, Respiratory Care, and Communications Disorders. It comprises a mixture of traditional classrooms, faculty offices, conference rooms, and collaboration spaces with interactive learning labs and cutting-edge technology.

The addition of Willow Hall brings 500 students to a campus dedicated to interactive learning. A functioning public medical clinic located within the building allows students to gain valuable hands-on experience working with actual patients in an exam room setting. Students also have access to common areas and study spaces throughout the facility for socializing between classes or collaborating on group projects.

The building inspires learning starting with a polished entry, modern finishes, natural light, and transparency of space. A communal stair links the levels, and distributed spaces were designed throughout the building to encourage and support study groups of various sizes. Clean lines and refined forms complement the bright, natural light inundating the building.

Being in close proximity to three different Round Rock-area hospitals and situated in a booming residential area, Willow Hall provides a welcome addition to an energized medical community for students throughout and around Central Texas.
